FAQs

Tell me how the sessions work.

  • The first 7 minutes will be used to welcome you and for each member to type session goals in the chat

  • The next 45 minutes everyone will be muted, but on camera (recommended) and working on their own projects/tasks/exercise etc. This is the deep work or focus period where we ask you to remove distractions so you can achieve your session goal and stay accountable.

  • The last 7 minutes will be used to have a quick typed debrief from each person if their session goal was achieved.

Why should I be on camera?

By being visible on camera while doing focus work helps to encourage others to stay focused and perform their task, which in turn will help you stay focused accountable to complete your session goal. It is also a way in which we can keep you accountable and cheer you on in being productive and reaching your goals.

If I go on camera you will see my house or family

That is correct, so we recommend to setup in a non revealing space. It is your responsibility to protect the privacy of your home and family or others around you.

Can I attend a session at a different time?

We are all about keeping you accountable in achieving your goal and having a fixed time helps you to create the habit of integrating your goal into your daily life until it becomes the norm.

If you are using Stride as part of a Corporate benefit or University Student Support program, you will have the option to book a different time slot up until 12pm SAST the day before.

Why do you need my data

Your data is only stored to provide a better experience for you while using our services. We have also limited the amount of data fields to only the necessary data required to provide you the best experience. For example, we will need your email address to send you reminders about your upcoming session.
